Multi-sport Playing Surface to return in 2022
The complex installed a new hard court playing surface on portion of the field from January to the end of April in 2021. This was part of a pilot project to look at the long term feasibility of having this type of surface available for indoor sports and other activities, both to help ease the limitation on such playing surfaces in the area, and also to increase and diversify the overall use of the complex.
This removable flooring is able to remain in place on top of 1/3 of the existing turf in the facility. Its hard top makes it a great alternative to a gym flooring and can be used for sports like volleyball and basketball, to name a few. A turf area of 100ft x 70ft remained available for other turf activities during this pilot. The surface proved a huge success in meeting the needs of the local Pictou County Invasion Volleyball club, along a few new groups, and existing activities were able to continue using the smaller turf area.
Based on customer demand, we will be installing the SportCourt playing surface again this year, and it will be available for use from January to the end of April. If you are interested in using the SportCourt for your group/activity. let us know!
COVID-19 Provincial Restrictions remain in place at the Complex.
Everyone is required to be masked, social distance, and show proof of double vaccination enter the complex. Mask must be worn in the lobby area, once on the field your organization determines what rules must be followed. Follow all signage - posted directions at all times.
